About Arthur

Arthur Santos is a Research Scientist at the Energy Institute/Colorado State University working on the Methane Emissions Program. His current role includes primarily the modeling of individual oil and gas facilities and entire basins with the aim of accurately estimating methane emissions. Additionally, he is engaged in the enhancement and ongoing evolution of the Methane Air Emissions Simulator (MAES).

With a background in Electrical Engineering, his research interests expand to a diverse array of topics, such as DC distribution systems in commercial buildings, characterization of power converters, harmonics, and sustainable solutions for energy access. Prior to his role at CSU, Arthur worked as an Electrical Engineer at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. In this capacity, he worked as a technical lead on microgrid and energy storage solutions for underserved communities across the United States. Arthur has a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering both from CSU.
