About Paul

Paul Francisco is a Senior Research Associate at the Energy Institute.  Paul’s technical expertise is in energy efficient and healthy homes.  Paul delivers solutions in these areas through both research and training.  On the research side, he conducts studies on the impacts of interventions on both energy use and indoor environmental quality, with a focus on field-based experimental studies.  He also trains practitioners on these issues, focusing on how to assess homes to determine the best measures to make an impact to support families’ well-being.

Paul is an American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Fellow, was the recipient of ASHRAE’s 2020 Environmental Health Award, is a past chair of the Building Performance Association, and has held leadership roles in multiple organizations dedicated to improving indoor environments.
