Grid Modernization Initiative

As our energy needs evolve, the electric grid must adapt to meet emerging demands. The Grid Modernization Initiative builds on an established track record of collaboration and will continue bringing strong partnerships with utilities, industry leaders, and researchers, to deliver practical solutions that enhance grid reliability, resilience, and efficiency.

Demonstration Room

The Demonstration Room will function as an industrial engagement and educational training showcase to support workforce development, and highlight funded projects that address real-world challenges. These demonstrations, spanning initiatives supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, utilities, independent system operators (ISOs), and other partners, will translate interdisciplinary research innovations into practical, scalable solutions for the modern electric grid.

Zongjie Wang, Ph.D.
