About Kate
Kate Patterson is a Research Associate at the Energy Institute at Colorado State University. In her current role, she supports all research and testing operations at the METEC facility. The site’s focus is methane emissions from the oil and natural gas supply chain and test programs to evaluate the effectiveness of systems to detect and/or quantify methane emissions.
Kate holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Denver. Prior to joining the Energy Institute, Kate worked as an Indoor Air Quality and Ventilation Specialist at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, where she designed and organized air quality assessment programs and developed wildfire smoke preparedness programs. She also has experience as an R&D Scientist at Handix Scientific, where she developed instruments for measuring atmospheric particles and coordinated field campaigns
