After graduating from Bridgewater College with a B.S. in Physics, and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University, Derek joined the Powerhouse Community in 2015 as a Mechanical Engineering graduate student in the Interdisciplinary Thermal Science Laboratory. After working on several projects, his research now focuses on technoeconomic modeling of a thermally activated cooling system. His primary research interests include heat exchanger design, thermodynamics, and system modeling. In spare time, he enjoys snow sports, ultimate frisbee, and climbing.
