Factor(E) Ventures

Factor(E), founded in 2013, is a joint venture between Shell Foundation and the Energy Institute at Colorado State University. It was born out of a need for more effective investments in early stage energy-related technology ventures. Both partners identified an opportunity to help entrepreneurs and investors alike achieve higher impact by filling in an execution gap. By combining early stage capital with technology co-development, Factor(E) is able to de-risk ventures and prepare them for scale.

Shell Foundation and the Energy Institute at Colorado State University have been successful impact partners for several years, launching and supporting Envirofit International (now one of the largest improved cookstove companies in the world) out of one of the Energy Institute laboratories.  For more information contact Morgan DeFoort
